No more mushy, slimy mushrooms! Transfer mushrooms into a brown paper bag and store away from anything with moisture. I keep them in my vegetable bin, but away from other vegetables that have a lot of moisture. Remember moisture will deteriorate mushrooms quickly so
clean only the amount of mushrooms you will need and keep remainder in paper bag. Doing so will keep your mushroom fresh for nearly two weeks! I like to buy mushrooms from Costco--and now I can without worrying they will go bad before I can use them. (Note: Mushrooms are pictured in open bag for photo only, close bag for storage.)
Update 9/9/17: I found an even better way to keep mushrooms FRESH longer. Clean (I like to peel the outside layer) and cut mushrooms. Store in air-tight container. Add dry paper towel inside to absorb excess moisture. I do this and my mushrooms will be dry and fresh for nearly two weeks. AND...they will be prepped and ready to go for cooking.
